February 27th marks a national day of solidarity and action focused on raising awareness about our food supply and the powerful agri-business monopolies which pose the greatest threat.
Come join Occupy Stockton from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Port Stockton Nursery. In solidarity with over 60 other Occupy groups & 30 organizations, we will Occupy Our Food Supply! Our goals for this action are:
* Raise awareness about genetically modified organisms (GMOs)
* Encourage family and community gardening
* Support local business and their decision to sell non-GMOs.
We will also be gathering signatures on a ballot petition to get GM foods clearly labeled, so consumers can finally be given the chance to make informed choices at the grocery store.
Port Stockton Nursery makes it a point to not sell any GM products; let’s thank them by spreading the word!
